CUPCAKE DAY!

GIS had a successful 'Cupcake Day' on Friday, 26th August 2016. We are pleased to announce that our school raised $900 and these proceeds go to the SPCA.

Thanks to those people that have contributed to the event by either supplying the delicious cupcakes or allowing your children to purchase cupcakes to help raise funds.

Here are a few pictures of the yummy cupcakes brought in by Room 21 students.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

This term as part of our writing - we looked at descriptive pieces around Autumn. Check out some of our published work! :)

Our students have also been learning about digital citizenship. This lead to student inquiries around how technology has evolved over time. Take a look at some of our group presentations.

WELCOME

Kiaora, Hello, Talofa, Namasté, Cháo ban, Kia orana, Chomreabsuor, Malo lelei,  As-salām ‘alaykum, Bula, Here mai and welcome to Room 21’s blog!

I'm so excited to be a new member of our school and can't wait to meet my year 7 Class of 2016! I am committed to walk through the door each day, with a smile, an open mind and an intend of creating a spark and cultivating curiosity within my students.

Every child brings something unique into the classroom. Therefore, I am dedicated to take the time to understand my children's experiences, needs, aspirations and fears so that I create a safe, “irresistibly engaging” environment, where all students are respected and share success in their learning journey this year. Learning in Room 21 is fun, interesting and meaningful, so we will be treading on new territory, especially in technology through our B.Y.O.D initiative.

There is nothing more SPECIAL than to have students, parents and the community share ideas on our blog, so that we all are part of the learning that happens in Room 21. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to regularly share your thoughts and suggestions. Be sure to watch this space for weekly updates as we embark on an awesome year ahead.

See you soon!
